Being a recent convert to the world of the healadin, I have to say that I like this approach. though I am still woefully undergeared for the SSC and TK healing I do, i am getting drops, like the T5 shoulders, i socked them with.... Talasite, cant remember the one exactly (probably the one listed. But Im not sure i need the extra stam, so i might look to switch them out, however the int is nice. I think one thing worth mentioning here is a reminder that the heroic drop gems will no longer be unique equip so there will be more demand for them.

THanks for the reference. I am trying for the healadin. but the tank still comes out sometimes

@Vishero - well, as a druid, I suspect that some of my advice doesn't apply to you :) In particular, you may well find +spirit gems useful - maybe not the full-on spirit-only gems like the Sparkling Star of Elune, but something like Purified Shadow Pearls (+9 Heal, +4 Spirit, red/blue) might be a good choice if you're taking the stacking-spirit route.

@Ngita - I have a bit of an advantage there, being a jewelcrafter :) That said, I'd rather stack an uncommon variant of the gem I want rather than use a rare gem I didn't really want... but then I'm a cheapskate. :)

Well personally my soothing ameythst went straight into my next pvp helm, but nice article and a good reminder I really should regem my shoulders, At the time Dazzling talisite was the only healing gem for sale on the AH.

This is a great post, even though I myself am not a healadin... but for someone relativly new to the healing arts, this has helped a bunch!

Well, absolutely - no-one likes a healer with 8k health. :) I did say "you shouldn’t be consciously sacrificing healing power for stamina unless your survival is more of a progression stopper than your tank’s is", though, and I think that fits this situation - provided one has enough health to survive the encounters, improving one's healing output and/or longevity is more critical than improving survivability further. That proviso is very important, of course.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the portion of your post where you're knocking the +11healing +6stam gems...to some extent.

There are many encounters where although you wear plate, AoE still takes you down to dangerously low levels of health. If you're sitting under 10k unbuffed health as most healadins pre SSC are these gems are wonderful. Healing is the most obvious stat but after that it's juggling staying alive and then ensuring that you have the mana pots / MP5 to keep you kickin in the fight.

Every healing class looks for just pure healing. Tell me this: "How good can you heal when you're face down in the dirt?"

Stamina is an absolutely under rated stat!!
